Key activities

Acts as key contact for European tax matters for the Krakow Finance Team, Supports and reviews the annual Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and VAT returns, other filings and statistical reporting, Coordinates regularly with the local outside service providers and monitors, compliance status, changes in tax regulations, and considers the impact on the Amway business, processes and systems.

VAT & CIT Filings

  • Review monthly VAT Returns and work closely with the European Tax Manager and the local Service Provider to correct and adjust any misstatements on the returns, and provide support to internal team
  • Assist the Tax Manager in preparing the non-routine tax adjustments and reviewing the draft CIT returns received from the local outside Service Provider
  • Assists the European Tax Manager in managing and monitoring internal controls for the VAT and CIT processes
  • For CIT and VAT, works closely with Finance team to ensure timely responding to tax questions raised by the local outside Service Provider, timely filing of returns, and timely payment of taxes


Tax Accounting

  • Assist in preparing the year-end Income Tax Provision included in the GAAP and Statutory Financial Statements
  • Monitors the Income Tax Accounts throughout the year for accuracy and completeness. Assists with the GL reconciliation of direct and indirect tax accounts.
  • Supports and reviews the internal reporting required for uncertain tax positions
  • Reviewing the Tax Accounts for US GAAP and the Statutory Financial Statements


Transfer Pricing/Tax Audits/Tax Planning

  • Reviews the intercompany agreements and work closely with the Tax Manager, Service Center, Corporate Tax and the Finance Teams to address questions and ensure proper billing of intercompany charges for the European entities
  • Assist in preparation of annual transfer pricing (TP) documentation and collection of data needed for the quarterly product TP review
  • Assist the Tax Manager by monitoring legislative changes, identifying tax planning opportunities and completing various ad-hoc reports and or requests as needed
  • Supports the Tax Manager in case of tax audits of European entities
  • Supports the Tax Manager in developing and implementing tax improvements
  • Supports the Finance group in case of tax related questions from auditors and the businesses
Key Qualifications required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other degree with equivalent accounting experience
  • At least three years tax experience
  • Very good VAT knowledge in respect of EU transactions
  • Strong accounting skills (US GAAP)
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Experience with ERP systems (ideally Oracle) and Hyperion
  • Strong computer technical skills - MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Good project management skills
  • Communicates information clearly and concisely
  • Maintains positive relations and appropriately involves others in decisions and plans
